DIARY DATES 2025

We expect to be able to launch some of these tours very soon as the last few outstanding elements of planning come together. Thanks for your patience!

Saturday 16th August – West Somerset Railway
Fans of the fabulous Hastings DEMU will probably not want to miss our special train to the picturesque West Somerset Railway.

Saturday 23rd August – The Garden of England
We are delighted to offer an intensive ‘track bash’ around Kent featuring 2 heritage class 50 locomotives and Mark 1 rolling stock.  Highlights will include the branch lines to Sheerness on Sea and Bromley North, the Bat & Ball branch and a full run round the Kent coast including an afternoon break at Margate. Expect some fast running too as we expect to pick up passengers at stations along both the Chiltern line and the Great Western mainline from Oxford.

Saturday 6th September – North West of England
We are biting our lip with this one whilst negotiations continue but suffice to say our plan is to visit at least one location in the North West of England that has never seen a charter train before, with the potential for additional RARE freight track along the way whilst being hauled by a RARE freight locomotive.  Fans of rare track and traction tours will not want to miss this one and we have planned an additional station call in the West Midlands to assist those wishing to visit the much-anticipated Modern Railways/GBRf event at the Severn Valley Railway the following day.  So please grab your pencils and diaries and mark ‘UKR’ against Saturday 6th September now!

Saturday 27th September – The Ulster Express
Something different with its roots in railway heritage. Given the ‘Ulster Express’ was withdrawn by British Rail in 1975 we know a class 92 would never have been rostered. A class 50 however might well have been! Our train from Barking to Heysham involves both classes of locomotive. Save the date for this quite unusual tour.
